Project Management Institue (PMI) gives accreditation to companies offering training about project management after a detailed investigation. The aim is to guarantee a minimum standard of quality for people or companies who plan to receive training about project management. Before giving an REP (Registered Education Provider) certificate, PMI investigates the course outlines, the instructors and other relevant documents of the company.
To maintain the certificate, the company has the pay a certain annual fee to PMI. The company may reigster at most three courses at PMI, which are posted in PMI's web site. In order to register more than three courses, the company will apply for Global REP certificate. If the Global REP certificate is received, the company pays an additional annual fee in order to maintain it. In this case, an unlimited number of courses may be registed with PMI.
The word "Global" here does not mean covering the whole world or being the only choice in a region. Its meaning is an unlimited number of courses may be registered at PMI. |
